Whatsapp Drops Annual Subscription Fee, free Whatsapp, Whatsapp removes annual subscription fee, Whatsapp is now free worldwide, Whatsapp drops 0.99$ annual Subscription Fee, Whatsapp drops 1$ annual Subscription Fee,
Today Whatsapp has announced on its official blog that the company is dropping the annual subscription fee of 1$ / 53 INR approx which was applicable to some of those using the service after their first year. It is also said that Whatsapp was going to experiment with new models to stay ad free.
Nearly a billion peoples around the world today rely on WhatsApp to stay in touch with their friends and family.
WhatsApp founder Jan Koum admitted that the approach of charging an annual subscription fee hasn’t worked well for the company basically because many of the service’s users don’t have a debit or credit card, which is required to pay the fee. So over the next several weeks, we’ll remove fees from the different versions of our app and WhatsApp will no longer charge you for our service.
In their blog post they have also added that “Naturally, people might wonder how we plan to keep WhatsApp running without subscription fees and if today’s announcement means we’re introducing third-party ads. The answer is no. Starting this year, we will test tools that allow you to use WhatsApp to communicate with businesses and organizations that you want to hear from. That could mean communicating with your bank about whether a recent transaction was fraudulent, or with an airline about a delayed flight. We all get these messages elsewhere today – through text messages and phone calls – so we want to test new tools to make this easier to do on WhatsApp, while still giving you an experience without third-party ads and spam.”
Enjoy free Whatsapping 🙂
