Instagram is the latest app to introduce dark mode on its platform. The Instagram dark mode switch is now available for the beta version users. Soon it’ll be rollout to non-beta Android and iOS users.
With the latest update, dark mode brings a major UI change to apps by changing the usual white background to a darker shade.
Other than a difference in the look, the dark mode on apps is also known for saving battery on phones with OLED screens on Instagram.
Earlier there isn’t any toggle switch to turn on the dark mode like Twitter and YouTube. Instead automatically syncs with your device’s time and turns to drake mode on night time and light mode on day time for below Android 10.
Android 10 and iOS 13 users can enable this in their phone display settings. In the latest version, Instagram rolled out Dark mode switch for all Android and iOS users.
From this update, you can turn on dark mode on your smartphone by changing the device theme from light to dark. Also, whenever you want you can switch to the light theme on your phone.
Instagram’s new dark theme looks quite refreshing the background of the app is jet-black along with text outlined in white Instagram stories have the apps official pink red and orange accents outlining the icons notifications are shown in the same red color as before.
How to Turn On Dark Mode on Instagram:-
- Download the latest Instagram update.
- Open your Instagram account.
- Tap on your profile and tap on the hamburger icon on the top right corner.
- Tap on Settings, which at the bottom of the screen.
- Now you should see Theme option after About and select Theme.
- Select the dark mode in the option to enable the new dark theme.

If you select System Default, it will automatically turn to the dark theme at night times. However and whenever you change your mind you can switch to light mode.
Make sure you update to the latest version once it is released to use this feature.
